A pair of surrealistic abstractions by an unidentified East German painter. The dystopian dreamscapes depicted in both are dominated by intersecting timbers and metallic crystals—with the woodgrain of the former imparting something of a proto-“steampunk” flavor. The medium appears to be acrylic paint on rag paper. General shades include brown, purple, yellow, blue, and teal. Priced individually, but sold in combination at a discount. We see something Eastern Bloc in the aggressive casualness of the framing!
