A non-objective acrylic on canvas by an unknown artist—reminiscent of the large-scale black and white abstracts produced in the 1950s by prominent American artist Franz Josef Kline (1910-1962). The absence of color leaves all the attention on the texture of the heavy impasto, particularly that of the white pigment—applied with a wide palette knife in a manner that suggests spackling compound. Some may see an aerial map of a river delta in high relief. Signed at the lower right and mounted in a floater frame.
