A graceful flared porcelain vase with vertical light gray stripes made in the 1960s by the H&C Heinrich porcelain company of Selb, Bavaria.

HEINRICH & CO. started as a porcelain painting company in Selb Bavaria in 1896
Franz Heinrich constructed a muffle kiln in his parent's house.  These small muffle 'ovens' were used for a second firing of porcelain at a relatively low temperature to fix overglaze enamels, because the pigments for most enamel colors tended to become discolored at the high temperatures required for the body and glaze of the porcelain. Initially just one female worker was helping him. Five years later in 1901 he started producing his own whiteware.

Porzellanfabrik Heinrich Selb became one of the largest porcelain producers in Germany. Franz Heinrich died in 1928. In 1929 Heinrich & Co took over another Selb factory, Gräf & Krippner. In the 1930s there were 500 employees in the Heinrich factory.

In 1945 after the war ended the company ably resumed production. In 1970s employment rose to 800. In 1976 Heinrich Porzellan GmbH became a part of Villeroy & Boch.
