‘NUEVE PIRAMIDES’ ATTRIB. RAÚL FARCO (1999)
CONTACT US HERE ABOUT THIS ITEM.
A clever modernist abstract, possibly by Argentine architect and sculptor, Raúl Farco (b. 1953). Not a major part of his oeuvre, Farco’s paintings are nevertheless strong and unique—both conceptually and technically. The ideas and figures of his sculptures are seen to recur in his paintings, often with an added twist that gives them a life of their own. The enormous variety of visual textures here recalls Farco’s thorough mastery of sculpture mediums and their patinas: iron, wood, marble, aluminum, fiberglass, stone, and bronze. Signed in the lower right; signed, dated, and titled en verso. Soiling to the top edge of the frame.
