A striking studio pottery vase by Gerhard Bauer. The black surface looks as if it has been partially eaten away by a corrosive substance to reveal a baby blue layer below. The texture is quite wonderful!
Gerhard Bauer founded his ceramic workshop in Bietigheim in 1952. His focus was on ceramic vessels. The business has been continued since 1988 by his son and daughter-in-law Eberhard and Sabine Noe-Bauer.
