DRAGSTED SILVERPLATE ON BRASS, DENMARK.  Dragsted used the E. DRAGSTED mark from 1948 to 1958.

EINAR ROED DRAGSTED (1887-1967) was an active silversmith and designer in Copenhagen Denmark from the 1920s until his death in 1967.  He was one of a hundred "purveyors to the Danish Crown" (the equivalence of holding a Royal Warrant in the UK). His grandfather, Arent Dragsted (1821-1898), was himself a royal court jeweler & goldsmith having founded his original eponymous silverware factory in 1884.  In 1923, Arendt Dragsted's factory workshop was separated under the company name E. Dragsted with Einar as sole proprietor. Although silverware was mainly produced, pewterware was  a significant part of the production in the mid 1920s, and from 1935, the company also became known for its art-industrial bronze goods.  Einar's designs were unique for the times in which they were produced, and he gained wide notoriety as a highly skilled silversmith.  Today his tableware and jewelry are still admired by a wide range of collectors whose tastes range from Traditional to Art Deco to Danish Modern.
