MIXED MEDIA HARBOR SCENE BY ELIANE ADINGRA (1964)
CONTACT US HERE ABOUT THIS ITEM.
Apart from her name, and what her other work suggests about the years she was creatively active, we can offer no clues about the identity of ELIANE ADINGRA, the painter of this busy predawn harborscape. She shares a surname with the accomplished Afro-Cubist painter Georges-Ebrin Adingra (1933-2005), the name being a strong indicator of Ivorian heritage (perhaps only through marriage, naturally), and Parisian place names in the titles of her other pieces support the theory. Available unframed for now, we plan to eventually build a frame that will encompass the glue residue left behind with the removal of old matting. Mixed media: gouache, watercolor, and probably ink. Signed and dated.
