PASTORAL SCENE BY UNKNOWN BATIK ARTIST (0000s)
CONTACT US HERE ABOUT THIS ITEM.
An expansive batik panel, rendered to mimic the look of pyrography, from a talented unknown artist. The framed, folk-art work features a rustic pastoral scene, with farming figures, covered oxcarts, and subtropical foliage. Wagons in convoy trundle downhill while three bargemen punt their rafts upstream in an adjacent canal. Recalling the fluid, Regionalist style of WPA painter and muralist Thomas Hart Benton (1889-1975).
