Fantastic 1970s German Modernist two-arm candelabra from the studio of Angelika Baasner-Matussek. Altenkrempe, Germany. Signed.
ANGELIKA BAASNER-MATUSSEK (b. 1941) (neé Angelika Krämer) was born in Berlin in 1941. She studied fine arts there from 1960 through 1966 as a master student of Professor Rudolf Rausch and opened a workshop on the city’s Knesebeckstraße in 1968. The following year, she began collaborating with her husband, the architect Friedrich Baasner (b. 1941).
Bassner-Matussek held teaching positions at the Technical University of Berlin (in architecture and plastic design) from 1968-1984 and Berlin’s University of the Arts from 1973-1975. She established a second studio in 1972 in Kassau, Schleswig Holstein.
