A tall '60s or '70s pitcher vase from the studio of well-known German ceramicist Melitta Teubner (1918-2011). It is covered in a matt black, volcanic textural glaze with a fat-lava overlay of reddish-orange on brick-red clay. Maker's mark on the base. Teubner's studio was located near the Danish border in the small village of Sörup, in Germany's northernmost province of Schleswig-Holstein.
