POP ART ABSTRACT WITH COOKIE-CUTTER RAINBOW FIGURES (1970s)
CONTACT US HERE ABOUT THIS ITEM.
A dynamic oil on canvas by an unidentified, likely late 20th-century American artist. Five unsettling silhouettes in saturated, classroom colors hover over a silvery background. Their molded bases and the olive shade of the centermost evoke little green plastic Army Men—although something about their helmet-like heads suggests alien origin. The painting recalls the rubber-stamp illustrations of Warhol (1928–1987) and the stenciling methods that Keith Haring (1958–1990) employed in his earliest NYC street art. Unsigned and unframed.
