SURREALIST PHANTASIA [b] BY UNKNOWN GERMAN ARTIST (1970s)

The second of two untitled surrealist abstractions by a currently unidentified East German painter. The medium appears to be acrylic paint on rag paper. Both depict dystopian dreamscapes—perhaps metaphysical—of intersecting logs and metallic crystals. The inclusion of timbers imparts a steampunk flavor. Here in shades of purple, green, orange, blue, teal, and yellow, with a touch of red. Framed.
